Pain and Existence
Pain is an invisible force that constantly pulls one down. It fills one with fear and doubt, robbing them of the freedom of choice. It becomes such a hindrance that life begins to orbit around it.
And there are very real consequences for it. The pain is so cumbersome one will have a hard time exercising. They can’t stand for long enough to cook themselves a meal, get themselves out of bed for work and can’t pick up their grand kids when they ask them to make them an airplane. All the while frustration and guilt builds up in your mind because you can’t do the things you set out to do.
Let’s Fight Back!
The idea behind Movementum is to help keep your body in motion. A body in motion stays in motion, so the more we can keep you moving the better!
That being said, it can be hard to get moving when you are in pain so we’ll try to get you to a solid foundation you can confidently work with.
Our main focuses while working together will revolve around - Pain management, Rehabilitation, Education and Consistency.
Utilizing these things, we can improve upon your situation, both while we work together and while you’re living your day to day life.

Generally speaking, most if not all people can benefit from massage, especially when you know what you want out of it.
In particular, my practice hopes to offer you the benefit of pain relief, comfort, education, and awareness.
If you are concerned about whether massage is right for you or if it lines up with what you want to achieve, I’d be more than happy to discuss it! Even if we find that my practice is not a good fit for you I can try to point you in the right direction.

This largely depends on how your body feels/responds to treatment and the context of your daily life.
Some general guidelines I offer people is that:
1x a week is ideal for those looking to tackle an issue
1x a month is ideal for those looking to perform regular maintenance on your body and/or prevent further issues.
But like I said earlier, your body is your best guideline! I see people ranging from 2x a week to 1x every couple of months, so do what feels right for you!
The other important aspect is consistency. The more regularly we can work together the more we can get out of your treatment.

Initially starting out, we want to try to work together on a somewhat frequent basis so we can properly develop a treatment plan that will offer you the most benefit.
This can take anywhere from 2-6 sessions depending on your goals but, once again, the best indicator is you and your body.
Once we can get you a solid foundation to work off of, I promise you won’t have to see me forever! Part of the hope is to get you back to feeling strong and independent. You shouldn’t have to go to constant appointments to feel okay.
Ideally, the better we get you feeling the less often you should have to get massage done because:
A) you feel better!
B) you’ve been given the knowledge and tools to be able to take care of yourself
Once we get you to a comfortable baseline we’ll see each other much less frequently. Typically only when maintenance feels necessary or if another issue arises.
